Key Facts of Ahmedabad Dholera Expressway:

Ahmedabad Dholera Expressway will connect Ahmedabad to Bhavnagar. The corridor is built under Bharatmala Pariyojana and is sponsored and funded by the government of India. This four-lane wide expressway will run through the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) via Dholera International Airport at Navagam. Ahmedabad Dholera Expressway is a part of the Delhi Mumbai Expressway -which will be the most extensive expressway in the country. This expressway will reduce the travel time between the cities. 

Ahmedabad Dholera Expressway is a 109 km long expressway in Gujarat state. It is a Six lane expressway, which can be expanded to 8 if needed. The project was first announced in March 2010 by the State Road and Building Department. However, due to some reason, the tenders could not be floated. In 2019, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) finally issued the tenders, and the project cost is estimated at Rs 3,300 crore. This project will boost the area's economy because it also connects to Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR). It is expected that the expressway will be completed by December 2025.

The Ahmedabad Dholera corridor runs from Sardar Patel Ring Road near Sarkhej, southwest of Ahmedabad, towards Dholera between NH-8A (in the west) and SH4, Sabarmati river SH6, Gulf of Khambat (on the east side). It further passes through Sarkhej, Sindhrej, Vejalaka, Dholera SIR, Adhelai. 

The expressway is envisioned as a spine of Dholera SIR. Further, it connects to Delhi Mumbai Expressway, an under-construction project.  

Ahmedabad Dholera Expressway: Real Estate Impact:

Once the Ahmedabad Dholera expressway is operational, the real estate development will boom in and around Ahmedabad and Dholera. Also, the nearby regions' social amenities and employment opportunities will grow. The land allotment around the Ahmedabad Dholera expressway has begun, and people are expected to start settling in by 2025-2026.
