An area of around 872 Sq. Kms. Will be delineated as the SIR area. 

However, actual urban development of SIR area would be approximately 500 Sq. Kms (50000 Hectares). The port will be connected by road to the Ahmedabad – Bhavnagar highway which is about 11 km away. The government has set aside over 2,000 hectares of land for the port’s development. Rail connections are also being planned for Dholera. The closest existing rail connections are in Bhavnagar (34 km away) and Tarapur (103 km away).
